It's A Wonderful Life

This past week has been extremely frustrating in the emotional department. It seems like nearly every person I've talked to (who isn't family) has said nasty things about their own children, or been shocked and disgusted when they have found out that I have four and I stay at home.

The protective side of me wants to yell at them and tell them how awful they are and that I love my children deeply and wouldn't trade anything. But I know that arguing with these cruel people won't get me anywhere.

So instead, I'll just say

You sad people have no idea what you're missing.

I'm sorry it has been such a rough week :( It's really sad when you can tell how unhappy people are. Makes you really thankful that you are happy and love your life!

Oh, how sad is that? I run into it as well, but not as much as when the kids were smaller.
It is a wonderful life and I can see just how much fun you guys have on a daily basis.
Being a stay at home mommy is the best and having kids is such a wonderful gift in life.

I homemade slip n slide just can't help but bring out smiles. I hope you gave it a try too!

{and I find it so bewildering that in one generation, we have gone from a society where some women (my age group) had to defend/justify the decision to work outside the home....to a generation (you, my daughter) that is sometimes judged harshly for being full time mommas}

Gosh, some people! How do you like having Ben home? It looks like you're having a great time! Is that slip and slide homemade? :-)

Very sweet post Meg. Your kids are blessed to have such a good Momma. Good to relax because you have a busy week ahead. Please keep your MIL calm ;)

I'm sorry it's been quite the challenging week. I'm really not sure what people are thinking.....or are they thinking at all???

I adore the photos - they look like they are having the best time ever. And hooray!!! Ben is able to spend time with them. :)

Don't let those people bug you. They are just miserable with their own lives and can't stand that someone can take joy in staying home and raising their children. I am a mother of 5 (they are all grown up now) and enjoyed every minute I spent with them, but I, too, had some very negative comments made to me when they were little. Too bad..they really missed out in one of the greatest joys of life...and you do have a wonderful life...enjoy!

Enjoy your time with your young family, time enough to work once they are off your hands. They grow so quickly why miss it.

Looks so fun! Sorry you had a rough week. I found your site through Tammy's and the Homesteading series. I remember laying down plastic and using it as a slip and slide when I was a child too! Cheap and extrememly fun!
