Yarn Along

One of the shawls I'm working on at the moment is the Around The World in 80 Days mystery shawl. I've had to frog and reknit it after Duder... "helped". I'm really in love with this color though. It's more of a reddish purple in person than this almost black purple (the color way is "Raisin"  and it's spectacular.

I think I should probably post a picture of what I'm not reading right now, since it would have been easier to pick a book. But the one I'm reading the most at the moment is the More-With-Less cookbook. I've not made it past the beginning yet, and I don't really agree with the "meat bad! saturated fat evil! eat less meat!" vibe I'm getting, but I'm excited to get into the recipes and find out other ways for cheaper eating.

Joining Ginny's Yarn Along today.

Happy knitting (and reading),
Meg

I've always been partial to purple, and I love that color.

I've read that book, and I'm not sure I agree with their philosophy, either. But they do have good recipes and meal ideas.

I love the color and I never really liked that book. I did really like some of the recipes in it though.
See ya tomorrow!

My mom had the more with less cookbook growing up and used it often. Happy cooking and I can't wait to see the shawl finished!

p.s. I'm still lumbering along on the green "Christmas" shawl for my Wyoming friend. It's been six months!

Ever had lentils? If you haven't... don't! :) A friend of mine who is a healthy-in-the-extreme cook once told me how cheap and delicious they are... that they replace meat in an inexpensive and nutritious way.

And while I'm sure that's true... ick, ick, ick!

Do let us know if there are any yummy and inexpensive recipes in there!! (but I do stress... yummy!)

You nailed it. I really love the book just because the recipes use a lot of common pantry ingredients along with meat and produce making your meals simple, nutritious, and inexpensive! A lot of times I just use the recipes as a point of reference and then do whatever I want...

Gorgeous beginning on your mystery shawl, love that color as you described it!

Blessings, Debbie
