Anniversary Giveaway!

I can not believe it's already been a whole year since I started this tiny little blog. Honestly, I never thought I would keep it up. There have been many times I thought about shutting it all down. I think I was a little insane to start a blog with 2 year old twins and a 6 month old baby. Who the heck has time to blog with that?

But here I am, a year later and now I want share something with you all to say how glad I am for all of you that have found your way here.

I love all the comments I get and I read every single one of them. I know I'm not the best at getting back to every one - I try. I do fly-by responding between chasing small children down the hall way. I am so thankful for every one of you who has graced the doorway of my little place in blogland and I know it really would not be a blog if it weren't for the readers.

So in honor of this here blog's turnin' one, and in thanks and appreciation for all of you, I'm holding a giveaway....

Kidding!

Yep, I'm giving away my knitting. The Mandala II shawl that I completed this year. That link will take you to the project post.

I was trying to think of something that would be special, and after trying to pick out books or items that mean something to me, I knew it had to be something I knit.

Now one person will have something to wrap themselves in during this cold winter. Or, they will have a hand knit shawl to give to someone for Christmas! Easy Christmas shopping, eh?

So to enter, all you have to do is leave a comment saying what your favorite holiday tradition is, because I love hearing about family traditions.

You can enter until Midnight on Thursday and I'll draw a random winner Friday, December 3rd!

Good Luck!
Meg

P.S.: I should probably mention to family members that you can't enter! That would be unfair! Plus you could just ask me to knit you something. ;)

What a stunning shawl. I can't believe you will give that away. So generous. Now to traditions. It has to be about food at my house. I usually make a sour cream coffee cake for Christmas morning and then prime rib for dinner with gorgonzola sauce and parmesan mashed potatoes. With three kids in college the tree decorating is left to me now. We use to do it together but it is very difficult to get everyone home at the same time and I don't like to wait to long.

Oh what a nice give away, I will link to it tomorrow so you can get even more people to give it away too.
Personally, I will hold out for grumpy baby. I still love that picture.

Not to mention you already know all of our family traditions. :)

Very nice give away I might add.

Number one... that baby is adorable!! The face! :D

You had me laughing as I read your post this morning. I can't believe you knitted that. I am a much more basic knitter (let's just say pattern-challenged), and I am very impressed with the work you do!!

Ok... so my favorite tradition? It would have to be the homemade egg nog with heavy cream. It is a huge job but I make it on December 25th every year because of how much my family loves it...and that warms my heart. They all stand around in anticipation as I mix and add; and then groan in delight as I serve it up in special glasses with a bit of nutmeg on the top. As an ex-pat, it makes me feel especially loved when my kids like American traditions...so that would be one of my favorites. ;)

(ps... I love visiting your blog, Meg, and I feel the same way about my blogging friends and their comments!)

Meg I can't believe you are going to give that gorgeous shawl away! I have admired it since I first saw it on your blog when you made it. It is on my list of things to do....someday!
Now that our kids are grown and have families of their own, our traditions have changed. We always have a Christmas brunch (which was begun by my grandparents many moons ago). This year it will be at our house. It is always such a blessing having family here but there is something so special around Christmas time!
Bless you and your darling family!
Cindy

GASP! It's beyond my ken how you can give away that Beeeaaauuutifulll shawl! Traditions are in limbo this year, due to family illness/treatment, but I love being in our sun room, with Dave, listening to soft Christmas music while I read Luke, Chapter 2, the Christmas Story. We've done this on Christmas Eve for many years and it always brings hope, peace, calm and grace to our lives. Always.
